Filippo Arena was a Sicilian artist who is best known for his botanical engravings. His major work, La Natura e Coltura de’Fiori was published in Italy in 1767. There are 65 plates in total. The engravings depict beautiful and popular flowers. The coloring was completed by hand in the modern era using gorgeous, rich pigments.
