Cepparuli's engravings of the statues, mosiacs, & frescoes were the first to document the archeological finds at Pompeii, Herculaneum, & Stabiae after they were destroyed by the erruption of Mt. Vesuvius. This study is considered one the most important archeological studies ever produced and became the basis for all of Europe upon which Neo-Classical tastes were formed.
