Francoise Courboin was a man of many talents. What little biographical information is available indicates that he was not only an accomplished engraver and book illustrator but also a translator, editor and publisher. His interests forcused on both historical surveys and current literary figures. In addition we know he served as the conservator of the Cabinrt des Estampes for the Bibliotec Nationale. in Paris.
