Georges Barbier was a French artist during the Art Deco period. He worked in pochoir and used the muted pallette of pastels and earth tones that suited the taste of his time. His subjects are almost exclusively well-dressed women in an abstracted, romantic garden of shrubbery. Ranging from up to the minute fashions to nostalgic renditions of Elizabethan dress, Barbier's work was the epitome of style in his day and just as charming then as they are now.
