BIOGRAPHY OF HOSODA EISHO
Hosoda Eisho was a Japanese painter and printmaker of the ukiyo-e school whose career flourished between 1780 and 1800. His life is mostly unknown except that he was a pupil of Hosoda Eishi. He produced few painting and many prints, specializing in okubi-e and bijinga which are less idyllic and more robust and lifelike than his teacher's, Eishi.
