Beschreibung und Abbildung is a rare and beautifully illustrated work on the native trees and shrubs in the Dutchy of Wirtemberg. The plates were drawn and engraved (and perhaps colored) by the author, Kerner. Kerner was a German botanist and botanical artist at the Carls Universitat, in Stuttgart. The work contained 71 hand colored engraved plates and was issued between 1783 and 1792.
