Millingen was an Englishman whose scholarly intersts drew him to Italy. He wrote and illoustrated several studies in the early ninett=eenth century...one on ancient coins, another on Etruscan and roman statuesand vases. His works were published in England but lived ;most of his life in Itqly and is burried in the English Cemetery in Florence.
