The work was practical from the point of view of the gardener and described nearly 1,000 plants, mostly exotics. The work was issued in 1629, with the 110 full page woodcuts done mostly by Christopher Switzer, with some copied from Crispijn de Passe. The title Paradisi in sole is a pun on the author’s name, that is ‘park in sun’.
