Melchior Tavenier was a French cartographer working in Paris in the early seventeenth century. He s best known for his maps of the French provinces and in particular for a 1637 postal map. At one time he collaborated with Hondius on some maps and worked with other cartographers, Sanson & Bertius in particular.
He published his own atlas, Theatre Geographique, but his work is often included in the Atlases of other cartographers.
