BIOGRAPHY OF N. C. WYETH

BIOGRAPHY OF N. C. WYETH

Newell Convers Wyeth was an American painter and illustrator who produced over 3,000 works of art. He studied under Howard Pyle, whose work he tried to emulate going so far as to paint similar subjects. Throughout his illustrious career, he completed over twenty five books for Scribner’s Juvenile Classics, murals for the Missouri state capitol, the New York Public Library and the National Geographic Society in Washington, D.C., and countless illustrations. Wyeth is considered the artist who created the visuals Americans have of “the Wild West.”
