There were four Nicholas de Larmessin's, a virtual dynasty, of engravers, publishers & printsellers who dominated the French art scene during the seventeenth & early eighteenth centuries. Their engravings, Known for their clean lines and subtle textures, captured the nuances of the paintings of the emerging French romanticists...Watteau, Lancret, etc and popularized their work through out Europe.
