Full title is "The Embassy of the East India Company of the United Provinces to the Emperor of China". John Nieuhoff's verbal & pictorial description of the first attempt of what was to bedcome the Dutch East India Company to find trading bases. Rebuffed by China, they moved on to Java & Indonesia where they eventually settled.
